Mercedes-AMG is marking the 50th anniversary of its long-standing partner, Petronas, by launching a highly exclusive Motorsport Collectors Edition of the AMG GT 63 Pro. This special edition celebrates the phenomenal success Mercedes has achieved in Formula 1, including eight constructors’ championships and seven drivers’ titles over the last decade—thanks in part to the backing from Petronas.

What sets this edition apart? It’s all in the details. The GT 63 Pro comes in obsidian black metallic, inspired by the current Mercedes F1 car, with striking Petronas green accents on the side skirts, front brake ducts, diffuser, and around the windows. These green flourishes perfectly mirror the aggressive design language of Mercedes’ F1 cars, contributing to the car’s dynamic and athletic appearance. Additionally, the car boasts hand-painted silver stars on the rear, adding a subtle nod to Mercedes’ legendary racing heritage.

The 21-inch forged wheels, also found on the standard GT 63 Pro 4Matic+, are given a twist with matte black paint and a Petronas green lip, making for a stunning visual combo. The car’s Michelin Cup 2R tyres paired with carbon ceramic brakes and green callipers give the Motorsport Collectors Edition even more bite when it comes to handling and braking.

The Petronas theme carries over to the interior, though in a more understated fashion. Ambient lighting in green complements the AMG-branded door sills, while Petronas green stitching runs across the seats, door inserts, and centre console. Drivers are treated to top-tier luxury, with AMG Performance seats as standard, and carbon fibre trim featured throughout the cabin. Audiophiles will enjoy the Burmester sound system with 15 speakers, ensuring an immersive audio experience during every drive.

Under the bonnet, this AMG packs a punch. The 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine produces 612hp, delivering power to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The result? A blistering 0-62mph time of just 3.7 seconds. The Motorsport Collectors Edition is every bit as fast as it looks and feels, promising an exhilarating driving experience for petrolheads and collectors alike.

While mechanically identical to the standard AMG GT 63 Pro, the limited edition’s F1-themed aesthetic and its rarity—only 200 units will be produced—make it a highly desirable collector’s item. Mercedes hopes this car will appeal to F1 enthusiasts, motorsport fans, and anyone seeking a luxury driving experience that reflects the brand’s incredible performance both on the road and track.

As for pricing? While the standard AMG GT 63 Pro is priced at £164,905, the Motorsport Collectors Edition will undoubtedly command a premium, though exact numbers are yet to be released.

In a market where exclusivity is often as sought after as performance, this limited-edition model ticks all the boxes, blending race-inspired design with Mercedes’ hallmark luxury. Whether it’s for the track or just to turn heads, this car is bound to attract attention and deliver a memorable experience for its owners.
